Ust-Orda is a villgae in the Irkutsk Region where the Buryats, the indigenous people of the Baikal area, have lived for many centuries.

Visit to the Ust Orda Local Lore Museum. 

You will learn about the history, culture, religion, and daily life of the Buryats, the indigenous people of the region, from the Paleolithic era to the modern period. The museum grounds feature an open-air complex called the “Buryat Peasant Homestead of the Late 19th and Early 20th Centuries.”

Visit to the “Golden Horde” ethno-park. Folk program “Steppe Wolf”.

The ethno-park introduces visitors to the culture and customs of the indigenous people, as well as their national cuisine.

Meeting at the gates:
Guests are welcomed with a khadak (scarf) and offered white food (traditional dairy products). A vibrant fire purification ritual is performed. Well-wishing blessings are conveyed to travelers for a successful and enlightening stay in the Baikal region.

Folklore program:
Throat singing “Legend of the Wolf”: the singer produces two notes simultaneously — a fundamental tone and an overtone — creating an impressive two-voice solo that captivates listeners.
Performance on the khomus: an ancient musical instrument dating back over 5,000 years. Its unique sound is often described as “cosmic,” and it has long been considered a shamanic tool.
Storytelling about the traditions and customs of the indigenous peoples of the Baikal region.
Dance masterclass “Friendship of Nations”:
Participants join in the yokhor circle dance, an ancient ritual with sacred significance rooted in distant history. The dance is based on a Stone Age myth about a celestial bear hunting deer that stole the Sun.

Lunch at the ethno-park.You will taste a gastronomic set of Buryat cuisine dishes.

Return to the hotel.
